Well the silly season is finally behind us and Gill has just finished taking down the decorations. The weather in Maidstone continues to be very cold with occasional snow showers blowing through, but nothing as bad as they are experiencing back home in Inverness.
Have managed to get out and about with the camera this week and here are some of the results
This first picture is a group of twitchers from Croydon, getting excited over a flock of Snow Buntings seen at Shellness on the Isle of Sheppey.
These next 2 pictures were taken during a walk round Mote Park in Maidstone. Mote Park is a 450 acre park in Maidstone and it has a very large lake. Looking at these two pictures you would think they were taken at different times of the year and not both on the same day.
This final picture is of the 700 year old bridge over the River Medway at Aylesford which is about 10 minutes from where we stay.
We had been hoping to see our friends from Cambridge tomorrow, but it looks as though we are due to get another dump of snow so I expect there visit will be cancelled again. As some of you know we shall be travelling back up to Inverness at the beginning of February, stopping of in Glasgow to go the the Caravan and Camping Exhibition and then staying with Frances and Warren for a week and hopefully I'll get some good skiing in. It's been the best start to the skiing season in almost 20 years with about 1.5 meters of snow having fallen in less than 2 weeks, and I'm seriously p***** off at missing it !!!!!!!!!
Finally if any of the folk in Inverness have any good pictures of the snow could you please email me some so that I can drool over them !!!!
That's it for now.
